Tasty Remarks Expected when Business and Civic Leader Rick Cronk Opens the Marina Recreation Association Conference
|
Marina operators and marine trade associates are in for a sweet treat at the Marina Recreation Association (MRA) 39th Annual Educational Conference and Trade Show. The conference will open with a speech by William F. "Rick" Cronk, recently retired President of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream. Cronk helped build Dryer's from a small San Francisco Bay Area operation making $6 million a year to where it is today, the nation's best-selling ice cream brand with over $2 billion in sales.
"We're excited to have an experienced business leader of the caliber of Rick Cronk speak at our conference," said Jim Hayes, MRA President. "Rick is an inspiring leader with a record of success in business and civic life. We applaud his life-long contributions to the Boy Scouts of America. He will share a wealth of experience that I know will be worthwhile to our conference attendees."
Besides his accomplishments in business, Mr. Cronk is an outstanding example of the citizen-businessman who gives back to his community and his nation. He is a past National President of the Boy Scouts of America and continues to serve on their National Executive Board. He is also focused on dramatically reforming California's K-12 public school education system to provide educational opportunities to all youth, particularly the disadvantaged.
The MRA is hosting its educational conference and trade show at the Rio Resort Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 2-4, 2010. The conference includes a wide variety of educational seminars and an exhibition hall devoted to the marine trades. The event begins with a golf tournament and ends with a lively Awards Banquet.
"We are offering a discount for early registration by July 31st," said Mariann Timms of the MRA. "And, if you're attending for the first time, we have a special rate for you. This is the year to attend our conference if you haven't been to one before."
The MRA is an active association of marina owners, operators and trade members throughout the Western States, Hawaii, Mexico and Australia. Jim Hayes, MRA President, said, "Our conference and trade show is the ideal once-a-year opportunity for marina industry professionals to meet, learn, share and network."
