Please Attend Fish Stocking Reg Hearing Dec. 15th!
|
|
On behalf of California's fishing community and those whose jobs are dependent on a $4.9 billion industry, we would like to thank you again for writing in opposition to the Department of Fish and Game's proposed fish stocking regulations. As you know, these regulations are so costly they threaten access to fresh water fishing and will drive up the costs of fish sold in California restaurants and grocery stores. With an already struggling economy, increasing the cost of doing business is not going to help California's economic recovery, nor the communities dependent on tourism and recreational dollars.
As you will see by the attachment, opposition to the regulations is strong and diverse. Associations representing anglers, small business, water and recreational districts, retailers, local government, golfers, restaurants, grocery stores, farmers, hotels and lodging resorts, and many more, all agree that these regulations need to be rejected!
Many have asked what more they can do. We encourage you to offer public comments (up to 3 mins) at the December 15 Commission hearing in San Diego. Supporters like you will also be meeting beforehand at the Hubbs Institute West Room , at 7:30am, located in the same building as the hearing.
If you cannot attend, please let me know if you can send a representative to the hearing. Thank you again for your continued support.
PS: Please feel free to forward this email to supporters wishing to attend the hearing too.
