Clean Vessel Grants
The Marina Recreation Association (MRA) is the recipient of a grant from the California Department of Boating and Waterways to fund repairs and maintenance for pump-out systems operated by MRA member Marinas and Associate Marine Members in California.
Once enrolled, a member Marina is eligible for up to $1,000 for reimbursement of repair and maintenance costs. Marinas in California are welcome to contact Mariann Timms, Membership Services at timms@marina.org or phone 209.334.0661 for information on the grant process. MRA's Nautical News Publication Takes on A New Look!
The Nautical News is the MRA's quarterly newsletter reaching out to marinas and marine related businesses in the Western States. Not only is the newsletter mailed out to over 1,400 businesses, MRA members receive an electronic copy immediately after the newsletter is published. An electronic copy is also available on the association's website marina.org. The newsletter features articles on marina-related issues including columns from MRA's employee relations, legal council, and marketing consultants. Also included are listings for each of MRA's Trade Members.
Spring brings a colorful new look to the Nautical News. There will now be 8 pages of color in the average 28-page newsletter. This gives you an opportunity to advertise in color.
Along with the change comes new pricing, but with the new pricing comes new benefits as well. If your ad is in color in the printed version, it will be in color in the electronic version e-mailed to the membership and available on the website. If your ad is in black and white, and you submit both a black and white and color version, the ad will be black and white in the printed version but color in the electronic version.
If you are a member of MRA and agree to run ads in all four issues each year, you may also add a banner ad on the "Products and Services" search engine homepage of the MRA's website for an additional $100 per year.
There's only one catch, you must act quickly because the first deadline for artwork is May 25th!
If you are interested or have any questions, please contact Mariann Timms by phone 209.334.0661, facsimile 209.334.6876 or e-mail: timms@marina.org. The Advertising Contract can be downloaded here.

The banner ads are limited to 122 pixels wide, and their height (vertical length) is variable. If your advertising is more narrow than 122 pixels, such as a 100-pixel logo and some short descriptive text, it will be boxed in with a blue line. If you submit a graphic that is greater than 122 pixels, it will be scaled down, and there is no guarantee as to its quality.
The graphic format should be either JPG or GIF. If it is any other format (e.g., Photoshop, or psd) we will convert it for you.
Be sure to send us the URL (link) to which you want interested parties to go when they click on your ad.
