California 30x30 and Outdoors for All Initiatives
California’s lands and coastal waters are home to habitats and species found
nowhere else on Earth. The state is moving forward to guard those special places
and share them will all Californians. The state’s 30x30 initiative will conserve 30
percent of the state’s land and coastal waters by 2030. At the same time, The
Outdoors for All initiative is focused on equitably expanding outdoor access to all
Californians through focused investments in open space infrastructure, outdoor
programming, and improvements to state systems. These efforts seek to undo
deeply ingrained inequities, and preserve the cherished natural, cultural, and tribal
resources as the fight against climate change intensifies. Together these efforts will
help California protect our nature for generations to come and ensure the outdoors is
accessible to all Californians.
Secretary Wade Crowfoot, California’s Natural Resources Agency
